    Dear parents and guardians,

Students are in school and maintaining their safety and their health is very important to the district for their success.  CRCS is still following the Allegany County Health Department's lead on preventing and managing COVID related sickness.

Covid-19 Positive Home Tests can be reported on the Allegany County website here  https://hipaa.jotform.com/220054845953155

A reminder that the Affirmation of Isolation form, from the NYSDOH, can be found on our website here  https://www.alleganyco.gov/wp-content/uploads/Affirmation_of_Isolation.pdf

Once an employee submits their home test results, they will be redirected to the Affirmation of Isolation form and it can be saved or printed for their use. The self-access reporting forms can help reduce the time for paperwork to be completed. We at the ACDOH will reach out and call individuals who have a Positive Covid-19 test result that is submitted through our reporting form or through the NYS Lab Reporting System (eCLRS).

The only time that we at ACDOH will reach out to a school is to confirm the return date after isolation for an employee or student after they complete a call with the parent or guardians.

Hope all of you have a great year.

    Carlos Gildemeister

    Superintendent of School

    Dear Cuba-Rushford Families,

To date, the district has remained open and in-person due to all the safety measures we have in place district wide.  The district has taken a stance on being vaccine neutral to respect the rights of our families within our district.  Which is why masking is our most effective tool in avoiding the spread of the Corona Virus within school.  Students wearing masks properly allows students to avoid having to quarantine when exposed to a student who tested positive who was also wearing a mask properly.  Please help us stay open by reminding your children of the end goal.  The district is providing mask breaks whenever possible at the discression of each teacher.  There are a handful of staff who can not provide mask breaks due to health concerns, but students are able to take a mask break in 90% of their classes.  At the request of a parent, we are posting the single most benefit action our students can take below.

    • Students need to be masked properly at all times except during lunch or outside activities.
    • Staff need to be masked at all times when working with students.

    Dear Cuba-Rushford Families,

Allegany County Department of Health reached out to Cuba-Rushford Central School and is looking to partner with our school district by offering the COVID-19 pediatric vaccine to children ages 5-11. If the vaccine was offered through a mobile unit on school grounds by our district, would parents or guardians be interested in having their child vaccinated?

This survey is intended to see if there is an interest in providing this as a pass-through service through our school and to determine the number of vaccines needed to meet the interest.

    Dear Cuba-Rushford Community:

Due to a few questions regarding quarantine, we wanted to share more information with you, so you are fully informed about the current quarantine protocol:

    • Any individual who is considered a close contact of a positive case but is vaccinated and asymptomatic will not have to quarantine.
    • Any individual who is considered a close contact of a positive case but is not vaccinated will have to quarantine, even if they are asymptomatic.
    • As of right now, a negative test cannot relieve a person of quarantine mandates.
    • Students are required to always wear masks, which alleviates the need to quarantine in most cases.  However, students remove masks in the cafeteria to eat, which may result in quarantine.

Dear staff, parents and community members,

Tomorrow our children go back to school full time!  That is so exciting!  We will be there to great them and welcome them to the start of a great year.

The new guidance, which matches the Board of Education's adopted 21-22 Opening Plan, states that all students and staff must wear a mask while inside the building and inside classrooms regardless of social distancing and vaccination status.  Please remember by complying with these regulations, it allows us to remain open for the normal schedule and continue with all extracurricular activities.

    August 25th, 2021

Dear staff, parents and community members,

The attached document is the COVID Opening Plan for the 2021-22 school year.  The Board of Education reviewed the plan and adopted the plan at their August 24th board meeting. With Allegany County infection transmission in August consistently at the 'Substantial' level and on occasion going in and out of 'High level', we support the universal mask wearing as indicated in the plan.  We are hopeful in the near future the infection rates in our county reach at least the 'Low level' so that masks can be removed in the classroom.  Until then, the district's goal is to be open in-person all 5 days keeping our staff and children safe.

Should you have any questions, please feel free to send me an email and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

    Thank you very much.
