CONFIDENTIAL Bullying/Harassment Report
The Dignity for All Students Act (DASA) amends Education Law to put in place procedures for creation of a school environment free of discrimination and harassment. The law is effective July 1, 2012. "The legislature finds that student' ability to learn and to meet high academic standards and the school's ability to educate its students, are compromised by incidents of discrimination or harassment..."
The District condemns and prohibits all forms of discrimination and harassment of students based on race, color, weight, national origin, ethnic group, religion, religious practice, disability, sexual orientation, gender, or sex by school employees, or students, to students on school property and at school sponsored activities and events that take place off school property.
Example of bullying/harassment/discrimination: Student A knocks the books out of Student B's hand without provocation on a regular basis, with no retaliation from Student B. - This needs to be reported on this form.
Example of conflict: Student A and Student B are calling each other names back and forth. - This needs to be reported to your building principal.
