September 22 & 25 - Symptomatic & Absent Students
This update is the update that stands as the districts process. Please have a conversation with our nurses to guide you through this process. They are here to protect all students and staff and keep us open for the benefit of students.Dear Parents, Students and Community Members,Today the superintendents and school nurses met with the Allegany and Cattaraugus Health Department to go over a myriad of questions and scenarios districts and both Health Departments have encountered since the start of school. In the chart provided by the county today, the district does have some leeway to deviate from the requirement of having a COVID Negative Test result only if the district is aware of and familiar with existing documented conditions that have the "*" next to the symptom. The district could simply recommend they see their primary doctor as a follow up.There are some symptoms listed in the chart that don't give the district the leeway to determine if they were preexisting or not. For example, a fever or sore throat would require a COVID Negative Test Result. We do have some flexibility but want to remind our community, our goal is to remain open for the benefit of our children. There is potentially additional guidance coming out this Thursday on the subject, we will remain nimble and follow our Health Department's recommendation. -
September 21 - Symptomatic & Absent Students
The New York State Health Department has issued new guidance. All students and staff displaying COVID-19 symptoms whether they be in school or at home must perform a COVID-19 Negative Test before being allowed to return to school.
Covid 19 Symptomatic Students and Staff
Although this requirement is inconvenient, Cuba-Rushford will be following and enforcing the policy to ensure the safety of our students and staff with accurate reliable data results.
If a student or staff do not report to school, our nurses will be following up with a call to ensure our students or staff are okay. They will follow up with specific questions regarding your symptoms. I ask please you cooperate with them.
Currently, test results are coming back within 24 - 48 hours through Jones Memorial.
Thank you very much for your help and cooperation.

September 1- Reopening Update for Cafeteria
Dear Cuba-Rushford Families,
It is with great joy that we announce that the district has been approved for another 4 years for FREE Breakfast and Lunch through our CEP Grant.
However, there has been a change in guidance from the State of New York and the district at this time can only offer on-site pickup, meaning distribution can only take place from CRCS property. See below.
- All food pick-up stations must be ON-SITE. This means we can no longer use the Rushford Fire Hall as a food pick-up station. Food pick-up will continue Monday – Friday at Cuba-Rushford Elementary from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM.
We encourage families to still fill in the form provided in the September, 2020 Newsletter should the availability be extended to the district.
