--The Large Hadron Collider is now in operation! Update: due to a faulty electrical problem with a pair of magnets, the LHC has been temporarily shut down. As it takes a month to warm it up and another month to cool it back down (it operates at a temperature colder than any known place in the universe), its restart has been decided to be delayed until Spring 2009.
