Message from the Principal

    Kevin Erickson, Cuba Elementary Principal

As you can see, Cuba Elementary is a very beautiful historic building that has retained its original design and attractiveness.  It was built in 1938 and went through a facilities upgrade in the late 1990’s. We are fortunate to have a school building that is traditional in style, aesthetically appealing, and yet modern with upgrades in technology and classroom size. Cuba Elementary is equipped with an up to date library, two computer labs, and a distance learning lab.

There are approximately 350 students in grades Pre-K thru 5 and our average class size is about eighteen.  We will continue with many of the initiatives established during our three year Reading First Grant.  We will continue to focus our professional development on Step Up to Writing, differentiated instruction and technology.

Do you really want to know what makes Cuba Elementary so amazing?  It is the dedicated staff that is committed to meeting the needs of each student, setting high expectations, and pursuing excellence in education.

We have a very active PTA that helps to promote character education and keeping our students highly involved with activities during and after the school day.  Come to the school library at 6:30 on the second Wednesday of each month if you would like to be part of this highly successful organization.

The Cuba-Rushford area is obviously a great place to live, work, raise a family, and eventually retire.  I feel extremely fortunate and proud to be the principal at Cuba Elementary.  I continue to look forward to what we can accomplish together!

Please stop in, call, or e-mail me if I can answer any questions or be of service.

    Warm regards,

    Mr. Kevin Erickson
